How the custom paint program works
The custom paint program is structurally part of the Vanderloc order, not an upsell layered on top. You specify the color at order placement; the cabinet is built, primed, and painted at the Vanderloc facility on the same 21-day lead time as a stock finish. No additional lead time for the custom application, no significant cost premium over a stocked color.
The program accepts three color palettes:
Vanderloc-stocked colors. The brand maintains a curated palette of warm whites, soft greiges, deep navies, rich neutrals, and design-forward colors developed specifically for luxury bath vanity application. These are colors the brand has spec-tested across their construction and finish process.
The Sherwin-Williams palette. Any color in the Sherwin-Williams catalog applied to order. For designers spec'ing a vanity to match wall color or tile already selected from Sherwin-Williams, this means exact-color matching from a single source.
The Benjamin Moore palette. Any color in the Benjamin Moore catalog applied to order. Same logic — exact matching to wall color, tile, or other Benjamin Moore palette selections.
The most-spec'd custom paint colors at our store
Out of the open palette, certain colors come up repeatedly across the Vanderloc orders we configure. Worth knowing for buyers who want a starting point.
Warm whites and off-whites. Benjamin Moore Simply White, Sherwin-Williams Alabaster, Benjamin Moore Cloud White. These read clean and timeless on Alexandra and Kiawah configurations — neutral enough to age well, warm enough to avoid clinical cool-white reads.
Soft greiges. Sherwin-Williams Accessible Beige, Benjamin Moore Pale Oak, Sherwin-Williams Agreeable Gray. These suit transitional bathrooms across multiple style directions — warmer than pure grey, more contemporary than pure beige.
Deep navies. Benjamin Moore Hale Navy, Sherwin-Williams Naval, Benjamin Moore Newburyport Blue. These are the most-spec'd bold colors at our store — particularly on LeCrieú configurations in primary baths and powder rooms where the bold color is part of the design intent. Pair with brushed brass hardware for warmth.
Deep greens. Benjamin Moore Hunter Green, Sherwin-Williams Pewter Green, Benjamin Moore Calke Green. The second most-popular bold direction, particularly suited to powder rooms and design-forward primary baths.
Charcoal and deep grey. Benjamin Moore Iron Mountain, Sherwin-Williams Iron Ore, Benjamin Moore Wrought Iron. The contemporary alternative to navy and green for buyers who want depth without color saturation.
How to choose a custom paint color
Three approaches work depending on how the bathroom design is being driven.
The wall-color-led approach: pick the wall color first, then match or coordinate the vanity. If the bathroom walls are already painted or planned in a specific Sherwin-Williams or Benjamin Moore color, the vanity can either match (vanity in the same color as the walls for a tone-on-tone look) or contrast (vanity in a complementary color for a deliberate accent). The vanity-led approach: pick the vanity color first as the room's anchor, then build the rest of the bathroom around it. This is how we recommend deep navy or deep green Vanderloc LeCrieú vanities — the cabinet is the design statement, walls and tile stay quiet, hardware and faucets coordinate to the cabinet.
The palette-led approach: develop the full bathroom palette first (walls, tile, vanity, fixtures), then specify each piece in the matching color. This is the designer-led approach for complex primary suite renovations.
Sample chips and confirmation before order
Vanderloc ships finish samples to authorized dealers and to homeowners on request. Before committing to a custom paint color, ordering a sample chip in the specific paint you're considering is the right move — paint reads differently on a wood door substrate under your bathroom's actual light than it does on a screen or a paint store chip.

How custom paint affects the rest of the spec
Custom paint applies only to the cabinet body and door fronts. The Silestone top, Flusso or Vigo faucet, and cabinet hardware are specified separately and should be coordinated to the paint color.
For dark or saturated cabinet colors (deep navy, deep green, charcoal), brushed brass and aged brass hardware warm the cabinet and read coordinated. Matte black reads sharper-contemporary against dark cabinets. Avoid chrome and polished nickel on dark saturated cabinets; they fight the temperature.
For warm whites and soft greiges, virtually any hardware finish works. Brushed nickel, polished nickel, brushed brass, matte black, oil-rubbed bronze all coordinate. The choice depends on the rest of the bathroom's direction.
